Knowledge Summary of Pharmaceutical Glass Tube
Glass tube is a kind of non-metallic tube, which is based on sodium oxide (Na2O), boron oxide (B2O3) and silicon dioxide (SiO2). Its good performance has been widely recognized all over the world, compared with common glass, it has higher transparency, better acid resistance, alkali tolerance, internal surface water resistance and corrosion resistance,besides,superior thermal stability, chemical stability and electrical performance, which can be widely used in chemical industry, aerospace, military, household, pharmaceutical packaging and other fields, generally speaking, glass tube has good performance in promotion and social benefits.
According to the provisions of 2015 version for the “National Standards for Pharmaceutical Packaging Materials”,there are four kinds of medicinal glass tubes according to their linear thermal expansion coefficient and boron content, which are respectively pharmaceutical soda lime glass tubes, pharmaceutical low borosilicate glass tubes, pharmaceutical middle borosilicate glass tubes, and pharmaceutical high borosilicate glass tubes.
